3 Game-Changing Activities to Supercharge Your Blog & Business

As I’m sitting down to write this post, it’s been almost one year since I launched Blog Beautifully – my little baby – out into the world.
And what a year it’s been!
As anyone who’s started an online business will tell you, the first year certainly hasn’t been easy. But that doesn’t mean it hasn’t also been fun, rewarding, and exciting all at the same time.
Looking at the past year in review, there were three things that stood out to me as being HUGELY successful and beneficial for my blog and business. Without these three things, I can honestly say I wouldn’t be anywhere near the wonderful and amazing space I’m in right now.
These three activities have resulted in:
+ more blog traffic
+ more sales in my business
+ more social media followers
+ more email list growth
+ more (and better) relationships with my audience and peers
These three magical things also have the potential to change the way YOUR business progresses, if you let them. Ready to see what they are?

Below I’m sharing all three activities, plus nine methods you can use to start seeing results in your business ASAP. Let’s jump in!

GAME-CHANGER #1. Doing Live video

Besides the fact that interacting with your followers in a live format happens to be SUPER fun, it’s also a great way to humanize your brand and build connections with your readers and subscribers.
I was hesitant to “do video” for the longest time, but trust me: the benefits outweigh any potential negatives by a LONG shot. I know it’s scary at first, but the more you do it, the better and more comfortable you get!
There are three main ways I use live video in my business, and I suggest trying out at least one of these methods:

1. Facebook Live

I try to hop on Facebook Live at least once per month to provide mini trainings, host Q&A sessions, or share exciting updates. I also use Facebook Live to host coaching calls for my courses.
I LOVE getting to answer my readers’ questions in real-time, showcase my personality, and give my followers a glimpse of “the real Krista” (you know, the living, breathing, human-me!)
In my opinion, video is 10x more powerful than a blog post. You can see a little bit of my personality through my writing, but it’s through video that my quirks really shine!

2. Webinars

Webinars are the best thing ever.
Not only are they a fun way to interact with your audience, share valuable content with them, and build up trust and connection – they’re also fabulous for selling things!
In the majority of my webinars, I offer some kind of fast-action-bonus for anyone who signs up for one of my courses during the live event. This generates waaaay more signups than blog posts ever do!

3. Hosting online parties

If you know me, you know that I love a good party. However, I’m also an introvert, so being around large groups of people wears me out pretty quickly.
Enter: The Virtual Party.
Dozens of cool chicks hanging out, having drinks, and chatting. But here’s the catch: it all happens online, via a live videostream!
I LOVE hosting these virtual parties, and I hope to run many more in the future. In particular, my “Christmas Bloggers Bash” was super fun, and I received lots of great feedback from the ladies who attended.

GAME-CHANGER #2. Manifesting

Now we get to one of the more “woo woo” activities I practice in my business: Manifesting. If you aren’t familiar with manifesting or the Law of Attraction, here’s a quick breakdown.
At any given point in time, you are “vibrating” at a certain frequency – both in your day-to-day life, and in your business. To attract things of a higher quality, you need to start vibrating at their level (that is, at a higher level. Think more joy, more light, more fun!)
Boiled down, the Law of Attraction states that “Like attracts like”. Like frequencies attract like frequencies. Success attracts more success. Failure attracts more failure. Wealth attracts more wealth, and poverty (or a poverty mindset) attracts more poverty.
If you’re thinking, “Well that sucks, because I’m super poor and not much of a success,” don’t freak out just yet.
The beauty of this whole thing is that your mind can’t actually tell the difference between what’s real and what you’ve made up in your head. So by thinking that you’re wildly successful and insanely wealthy (even if you aren’t) you can attract more wealth and success into your life.
That’s a VERY general overview of the Law of Attraction, but if you’re interested in diving into it deeper, I suggest the following resources:
Creating Money: Attracting Abundance
Get Rich, Lucky Bitch!
Some of the ways I consciously work to bring more wealth and success into my life and business are by:

1. Visualizing.

Visualizing my dream house, my dream bank account, how I’ll spend my days when I’m crazy rich, etc. I do this on a daily basis, generally around bed time as that’s when I’m most relaxed.

2. Magnetism.

I won’t go into this technique in detail because I’m definitely not an expert, but I suggest reading the “Creating Money” book linked above if you want to learn more about it!

3. Writing out my goals as affirmations and putting them everywhere.

When you do this, you want your affirmations to be written in the present tense. For example: “I made $100,000 this year and I feel AMAZING” (present tense) instead of “I’m going to make $100,000 this year” (future tense).
On top of that, the biggest key to all of these manifesting activities is that you have to really FEEL it.
Don’t say to yourself, “I want to be rich”. Instead, say, “I am SO stinkin’ rich and it feels AWESOME.” Truly picture yourself being in that moment, looking in your bank account and seeing a million dollars in there (or whatever it is that you want to manifest!)
FEEEEEEL that feeling. Let it sink in and permeate your pores. Then repeat, each and every day, as often as possible!

GAME-CHANGER #3. Collaborating

I always say this, but it’s worth repeating:
Blogging is not an island. Online business is not an island. You’ll have 10x more success and more FUN when you collaborate and build up a gang of biz besties.
Here are a few ways I’ve used collaborations in my business:

1. Joint-Venture (JV) webinars.

Co-hosting a webinar is a fantastic way to connect with other experts in your niche and build relationships with them, while at the same time providing value to your audience (and possibly making some money while you’re at it!)

2. Guest posting.

Again, this is a fabulous way to connect with your peers. Plus it gives you the chance to get in front of an entirely new audience, which is never a bad thing.

3. Masterminds.

Ahhhhh, Masterminds, how I love thee! I’ve been in a couple mastermind groups, and I absolutely LOVE them. They’re so friggen fun, plus a fantastic place to get feedback on your ideas, ask questions (and receive stellar answers from people who really know what’s up), and vent about your biz frustrations when you need to.

These three things have contributed IMMENSELY to the growth and success of my business. And I know they’ll be game-changing for you too, if you let them!
To recap, the three activities and nine methods are:
Live video – Facebook Live, webinars, online parties
Manifesting – visualizing, magnetism, positive affirmations
Collaborating – JV webinars, guest posting, mastermind groups
Now here’s my challenge for you:
Choose one method from each of these three categories, and make a game plan to implement them in your business WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK. Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today! Trust me: your future self (and your future business) will thank you for it.

  • Love this! My mom is majorly into manifestation (among other things), and I’ve recently gotten into it. Reading this couldn’t have come at a better time for me. 🙂

    • That’s awesome, Alee! What sorts of strategies have you been playing around with so far? 🙂

  • Kristen

Great list – I’ve read a lot about mastermind groups – but how do you start one or find one that is in your niche?

    • Hey lovely!

I started my mastermind group just by reaching out to 3 or 4 ladies in my niche who I’d chatted with before (usually whom I’d met through guest posting) and asked if they’d like to be a part of my mastermind! Then we created a group on “Slack” – a fun group messaging app – and jumped right in 🙂

      Good luck! <3

Let me know if you end up trying out any of these strategies and how they go for you! And feel free to message me anytime if you have questions <3

  • Hi Krista! Great post! These are all things I’m aware I should be doing. Video just terrifies me. Manifesting I truly believe in, but I haven’t been consistent with (which translated means maybe I don’t believe it will work for me). Collaboration…well I’ve just really begun to use social media (I know, I know. I avoided it for years) and I am now in the beginning stages of building relationships. So that’s good, but I’m still struggling with really “finding my tribe”. I REALLY want my business to work, so I’m working hard, trying to find a good mentor, and hitting it every day…an inch at a time if need be. Thanks for sharing.

  • Galatians513

This is so helpful, things I never even would have thought of!!!

  • Great advice, I agree video seems to be the way to level up in 2017!
